 7805 VOLTAGE REGULATOR


This is positive voltage regulator I.C i.e. it converts only positive voltage to 5 volts negative wire runs common to ground IC 7805 is becoming quite popular. Because nowadays electronic gadgets, usb port, mobile charger, bluetooth module. They are being made on 5 volts, they run on low volts, that is, the electronic things that used to run on 12 volts earlier are now trying to run on 5 volts or even less volts. Because 5 volts is easily available to us, and if a battery is used in it, then they can use a very small battery which lasts for a long time.

Things made on 5 volts last longer and they don't even get hot 7805 is being used a lot to make 5 bolts. The biggest reason for using it is because of its voltage regulation. No matter how much variation volt is given in the input of 7805 IC, its output is always 5, so this IC works the same on all types of volts.

IC 7805 looks like a transistor, it also has three pins, its connections are very easy. If the connections to the I.C are misplaced, it starts heating up very fast and gets damaged.



On top of the IC we put aluminum plate (heat-sink) to prevent it from getting damaged, holding the IC upright we give input voltage to its first pin and we ground the middle pin And from the third pen we take out 5 volts.





HEAT SINK

It is very necessary to put a heat sink in 7805 IC, if our output load is more then this IC starts heating up and we do not get proper 5 volts, and our voltage starts converting into heat, to avoid this we need a good A quality heat sink will have to be installed, it helps to keep the IC cool and reduces heat.




OTHER 7805 CIRCUIT COMPONENT

If you use a transformer to reduce the voltage, then you get to see some problems because if we reduce the AC 220v supply through the transformer, then there is ac noise problem in it, to overcome this we have to change the input and output. We use capacitors so that we can overcome this problem, to get better results, we have to install some capacitors according to the need with this IC, there is a lot of AC ripple, noise in the input volt, to remove it Electrolyte capacitors are used and plain capacitors are used to short the AC signal and we use one of these capacitors to make the voltage smoother (filter residual AC noise.)

We can put 1000uf 25v, 0.1uf (104) capacitors in the input


 
We can put 100uf 10v, 0.1uf ((104)) capacitors in the output


 
By applying this, the problem of AC noise coming in your supply will end.
